FEVER BELIEVING

We already talked a little earlier about how this weather has been totally salting our game, but it’s also been making everybody’s sinuses go wild [not necessarily our’s] But then, everybody that’s not physically fevered is in some sort of beiber fever or beavah fevah [not gonna link to that one here, but google it if you wanna] Well, now we really got a fever to believe in. Fever B just put out their new 12″ EP on Burger Records and it totally kills. Fevie B is the solo project of the main bad boy from The Fevers and Skipper and Retardos and Sweet Faces and a milli other bands. It’s only 5 songs, but each one is a bona-fide power pop gem. Chu know.

What’s going on with our Fall? Did we jinx ourselves? I mean, all of August we were saying “Summer don’t end this year” but we didn’t really expect it to actually be 90 degrees on October 10th. That’s MESTUP. Don’t worry though, it’s looking like we’ll be catching our Fall-fill later on this week. We’ll also be partying hard because the PUJOL release we did forever ago [Alive At The Same Time] is finally getting vinyl treatment — pick up a copy tonight at Douglas Cafe. Oh and we’ll also be celebrating because it’s the one year birthday of something very special to us.

WE'RE JUST AS EAGER

You guys hear that? That’s the pitter-patter of our hearts when someone brings Tristen up. What? We’re not allowed to like Tristen? She’s not punk or garage or rocknroll enough? Fuck you. Tristen’s been killing it lately all around town and on the road. And she’s got a new 7″ coming out this month that’s equally as killer as the live show. We got to hear a little preview of it and can vouch that we’re gonna be blasting these all Fall [granted, a Nashville Fall is approximately 28 hours and we think it might have already come and gone] But whatever. Bebe grrrrl’s got a whole full length slated to drop in February courtesy of American Myth. Until then, scoop the 7″ or download the single below and believe the hype.

FOR THE FIRST TIME

We talked about Liminanas a little bit ago but the bebes over at Trouble In Mind sent out some photos of their debut full length and we just couldn’t help but share. The self-titled record will up for order by the end of next week from the TIM site — so hop on it because there are only a limited amount of the mixed-vinyl copies. Plus, why would you not wanna get a record by a band that sounds like a French Serge Gainsbourg-y Velvet Underground? The other reason we wanted to make mention of this is because it’s the first 12″ LP that Trouble In Mind is putting out [I mean, up until now they’ve just been putting out sick singles for Ty Segall, Moonhearts, White Wires, Mean Jeans, Cococomas, and some others] Keep an eye on the TIM-ers, they prolly got some special treats in store for you sometime soon.

LIFE IS HARDER UP THERE

Can’t stop talking about Useless Eaters lately. I mean, why should we? Dudes fucking kill it live and are putting out more singles than we can keep track of. They posted the newest of which, Space City, on their myspace and made it available for download [We went ahead and linked it to you at the bottom of the page] Word on the street is that they’re working up a hometown lineup so they can start playing on the reg again. Dreams come true. Seriously though we couldn’t be more stoked to have a band like Useless Eaters call Nashville home — only more to be proud of. Anyways listen to the new hit ——- SHIT RULES! Don’t know who’s putting it our or when it’ll be out, but whenever it drops you’re gonna wanna snag it before they’re all gone.

GHOSTS WITH THE MOSTS

So if Demon’s Claws are really dunzo and you need some Maple Leaf love — Dead Ghosts got you covered. Dead Ghosts have been in and around for a bit but primarily just through blag-a-blag love from nerds around the nation that love to get their fuzz-on. That’s not to say that we don’t think it’s deserving or worthwhile — just saying that there’s a thin line these days and people throw labels out too haphazardly. The Vancouver bad boys shell out some pretty gnarly party jams. Forillytho. They’ve got a couple 7″s under their belt [one with Goodbye Boozy – the other with Bachelor] and a cassette or two too [good luck finding those though] They’ve finally got a proper 12″ release from Psychic Lunch available now. It’s called Live Tapes 12″ because it’s just the vinyl release of a live cassette released previously on Southpaw. Shit sounds better on wax though. If you’re down with the sickness — get on it. Oooh ah ah ah AH.

WALT DISNEY'S GONNA DRIP DRY

We mentioned a while ago that In The Red had a whole batch of new shiz to unload this Fall, and this one’s a real whopper [Seriously, our writing is getting so bad. Shiz? Whopper? Fuck it] Demon’s Claws are broken up. Or maybe they’re not? We can’t seem to get a straight answer from anyone. Depending on who you ask, they’ve been broken up for a while. But they’ve got a whole European tour plotted out? Whatever, let’s just talk about the record. They played the Basement after they released Satan’s Little Pet Pig and were a sight to be seen. Their latest album, The Defrosting of Walt Disney, is pretty sick. Canadian fuzzy garage rock at it’s finest. We keep thinking “Who will we look to now to get our Canadian fix?” If you’d really like to know — listen to these tracks off their new record and then continue to the next post.

LIQUOR AND PIZZA. YES PLEASE.

Liquor Store is probably the best band that’s happened in the last 5 years. We’ll probably take that back soon. Ok, we’ll go ahead and take it back right now. But they are definitely one of our favorite bands around right now. I mean, who puts out a 7″ that comes along with a coupon for a free pizza? And not just any pizza — some real fuckin’ Moustache pizza [Some of you know what we’re talking about – for everyone else, inform yourselves] Liquor Store spent the summer recording their first full length. No word as to when it’ll actually be out, but if it takes as long as this 7″ did then you can expect it sometime in 2013. The 7″ [out on Almost Ready — you know, the label that puts out all the World’s Lousy comps. Harry] features two tracks: Free Pizza and Trash Sandwich [Parts 2 and 3] We’re not sure of anywhere you can snag it other than on eBay or at a Liquor Store show, sorry. But, hey, here’s a vid of Sarim and the dudes belting out a new tune in a real crappy video.
