It’s been a long time coming on this one. We talked forever ago back last Summer when Kyle Thomas [man-myth-legend behind Witch, Happy Birthday, King Tuff, and others] was working on a brand new King Tuff record in Detroit, and now we’re getting our first little taste of some of the new material. Suicide Squeeze just announced their lineup for this year’s Singles Club and the first on the list is a new diddy from KT. You can check it out over at the P4k where they’re streaming “Wild Desire.” No word as to when we can expect the full length to drop just yet, but after listening to this new track we’re pretty excited. Others featured in this year’s Suicide Squeeze club include Cloud Nothings, Happy Birthday, Nobunny, and White Woods among others. This new 7″ drops April 3rd — so get on it. GUITAR WOLF

We’re not usually ones to go all rumors-y on you and stuff, but we heard this the other day and we can’t help but get excited and hopeful. Word on the street is that Japan’s legendary Guitar Wolf are gonna be coming our fair little city towards the end of March [March 27th to be exact] and will be gracing the one and only… 12th and Porter. Now – remember – we have no idea if this is actually happening. We’ve talked to a few people who say, “Yeah for sure Guitar Wolf uh huh” and some people that say, “I don’t know, why are you talking to me?” But we are believers and dreamers and we all know it’s been a prettttty long time since Guitar Wolf made their last visit to Music City. We’ll keep asking around and try and find official word on the matter soon, but if there was ever a good excuse to bust out your copy of Wild Zero and get stoked… this is it.

TRONICS - SHARK FUCKS

With the 2012 just underway, it seems that most everyone is trying to bring in this year with a bang. The guys over at What’s Your Rupture? are prescribing to this ideal too with the recent release of the UK/D.I.Y. classic Tronics’ Shark Fucks 7″. The single was originally released by Alien Records in 1981 to a mix of reviews. We could go on and on about Zarjaz [the man behind Tronics] but the guys over at Gilded Gutter have done a pretty good job of going fully in depth with this one. Check it out. The A-side to the single comes from the album What’s The Hubbub Bub? and is available for your listening pleasure below. The B-side, “Time Off”, starts out with a nice flirting dialogue that eventually delves into a post-punk sax infused jam [you can listen to that one over at the WYR site.] It’s a sick reissue that’s definitely worth the scoop, so head on over here and snag it…

Another week another BABE WAVE. This time our number one betty, Lauren T, is getting down in the basement with some dirty gnarly jams that are “nitty gritty” indeed. She’s spins lots of old classic cuts filled with subtle innuendo and some with not-so-subtle innuendo. Perfect to get you ready for another Valentine’s Day. Looks like it’s time to get strange again. It’s been a minute since the guys made a trip through the Nashy-land [The last time was that show over at Third Man Records, remember? They brought Natural Child on stage and covered "Lay Lady Lay" all Hard Rain stylee. It was sick] Since then, they released their third record, Live Music [which we recently found out its pronounced "live" like rhymes with "give"] through Rough Trade and it’s definitely been growing on us. You can still snag it right here. They’ll be hitting the road this Spring to support the record and we’ve got them lined up to come through Nashville on May 8th at The End. We’ll drop all the specifics on you a little later, but for now you can just go ahead and mark your calendars and get ready for a party. Check out one of our favorite tracks from Live Music below…

Oh, Giant Doggers, how we’ve been waiting for this day… Mr. Tic Tac Totally just unveiled the debut LP from some of Austin’s finest an we can’t wait to get our hands on a copy. After releasing their 2010 single for Sundae Records and a couple online EPs on their bandcamp, we’ve been itching for a proper full length and now we can finally have it. As you might expect, FIGHT picks up right where Trashcan USA left off with all the gnarly rippage you’ve come to love. “Gnarly rippage” – sorry, we just went full beach rat on you guys. You can check out four of the tracks off the LP over at the Tic Tac Totally website [where you can go ahead and purchase it too] No word as to whether we can expect A Giant Dog to roll through Nashville anytime soon, but we’ve got our fingers crossed.

As much talk as we’ve done in regards to this next Cheap Time record – Wallpaper Music – we feel like we might be getting people a little too excited for it. Actually, probs not. Go ahead and be as excited as you can for this one. In The Red has plans to finally release Cheap Time’s third studio album this month – you can jump to the click at the bottom to see the artwork. It’s a total ripper. If you remember the single they released last Summer on Cass Records [you know - the one that we said was our favorite single of the year last year] then you’ll know what we’re talking about. We know it’s been a long while since we first announced our Sex Cult single, but it’s finally time for us to unleash it on you. After a few snags and hold-ups, we’ll be officially releasing Sex Cult’s second single on February 21. They may change their name before then, but who knows. To celebrate the release, the guys are gonna come down to the old Nashy and play a sick release party at our favorite Little Hamilton on February 18th. That’s the flyer for it down there. It’s also the kickoff of the next Useless Eaters tour [we'll talk more about that later though and shoot you allll the dates] For now, you can check out the A-Side to the single – Plain Jane – and get stoked. If you haven’t scooped their debut single from Goner, we highly suggest doing so. After catching them in Memphis last weekend, we feel pretty confident saying these guys are one of the best things happening in the nation. Suck it, everyone else.

You know, the show we held over at Zombie Shop this past Saturday night was one of the most fun times we’ve had in recent memory. If you were there, then we think you’ll agree. Nothing like packing out a big crazy motorcycle/moped repair shop with rock and rollers looking to get their kicks, right? Right. This was the last Paperhead show we’re be able to catch in the Nashy area until at least Summertime, so if you missed out on them this time you gotta wait a few more months before your next chance. As you’d probably expect, every band killed it [particularly the newer kids on the block -- Dirty Dreams and Ranch Ghost] Our number one bebe, Bekah Cope, was there shooting photos and you can check them all out after the click. Our favorite Natural Children have been out on the road for the last month and we won’t be seeing their faces again ’til the very end of February. Leap year, in fact — when they take the stage at Santa’s Pub. Not to worry though, because we’ll all be geting our fill of Natural Child this Spring when they release two new LPs via Burger Records. The first is an official LP release for their much lauded Bodyswitchers album [originally issued on cassette courtesy of Infinity Cat Records] that should see the light in March and the second being the follow-up to last year’s 1971 — For The Love of The Game – which we should see in the May time. Stoked. Been waiting for a good way to DJ “Dark Side of The Moon” for a while now. The guys just did a nice interview about foods they like and don’t like over at Taste of Sound.
