HANS CONDOR AND BODILY FLUIDS

One of Nashville’s most under appreciated bands is about to put out their first full length LP and we’re so stoked. Hans Condor [who just got back a little while ago from a tour with Guitar Wolf, had their picture in Nylon Magazine, and rock and roll more than just about any other band in town] are releasing their new record, Sweat, Piss, Jizz, and Blood, December 18th with a release show at The 5Spot. If you’ve been following this band in the last three or four years, you’re probably as excited as we are to finally get our hands on more Hans Condor material. If you can’t wait until December for some newer stuff — the bad boys also have a split 7″ coming out in the next couple weeks from MueTown Records. Get on it!

Looks like December 18th is gonna be a packed night in Nashy. Between this show and the Hollywood – ModernHell – Love Is Red reunion show at Rocketown, we’ll be happy winter bebes that night.

THE EX IS BACK

Aww hell yeah. Wash away your wintertime blues — Ex Humans and Foster Care are coming back to party some more. They rolled through this summer and killed it and have since then released their full length LP [Rob’s House] If you haven’t heard it or picked it up yet, you’re depriving yourself of one of the best records to drop this year. They’re bringing along one of our favorite New York bands this time, too. Foster Care have a brand new 7″ that just came out and we couldn’t be more stoked. We posted a little video below of them going all out at the Trash Bar a while ago — Get ready for a party. Oh and Cannomen, Cy, and Natural Child are gonna play too. FUCK YEAH! Oh and some of our other friends from New York might be here to party too.

Snag the the Ex Humans LP right here. And, Jesse, if you’re reading this — bring us some shrimp po-boys or something.

YOU GOT THE HUNGER

MIDNITE SNAXXX

It’s rainy out so we’re hanging indoors eating biscuits, watching Young Frankenstein and jamming on some Midnite Snaxxx. The Oakland bad babes have only been around for a short little while but they’ve got a debut 7″ that just came out courtesy of Raw Deluxe Records and it sounds like it’s pretty solid. All we can base that off of is the demo songs they have up on their myspace since we don’t have a physical copy yet [It oughtta be coming soon though. Come on USPS] Girls that love rock and roll and food and the beach and staying up late — sounds good to us. Plus they been on alotta killer shows lately with bands like Uzi Rash and Guitar Wolf — so you KNOW that shit’s solid.

Here’s some info on the single.

PEACH AND POWER POP

PEACH KELLI POP

If you know us, you know we love peach things [Peach Nehi, peach rings, real peaches, blah blah blah] But one of our latest peach-infused loves is Peach Kelli Pop. Peach [real name: Allie Hanlon – who you might recognize from White Wires] just put out her first full length record on Going Gaga and it’s so sugary it’ll make you wanna vomit. Seriously, girl is the epitome of “short and sweet”. Something we thought was pretty sick was that Peach actually played all the tracks on the record and mixed it all herself — she must have sugarcoated guts of gold. It doesn’t look like any sort of tour or anything is mapped out in the near future, but that’s OK with us. We’d rather her wait til summertime when she can come party Nashy stylee in the sun. Head on over to her myspace for a listen, and snag the record here.

JEFF COAST

Bogus Bros are back in town this week for a couple days — you knew that though, you’ve already got your tickets to see them on the 3rd with Die Antwoord [we still don’t get it, that shit sux] Anyways, aside from the new record coming out, the bad boys have some more wax coming your way real soon. One of which being their Live LP from Third Man Records, and the other being a new split 7″ with everyone’s favorite queen of the beach — Best Coast. There’s not too much information to divulge about this one other than it might be pretty hard to snag a copy. We say that because it’s coming out on Volcom’s record club and you have to subscribe to get it. What a hassle. Hopefully the bad boys will get some copies of their own to sell and you can just snag one a them… we’ll let you know. In the meantime, enjoy this vid and get stoked for Wednesday…

GET YOUR SPOOK ON

Halloween rules. Forillytho. We’ve been snacking on more candy than usual and partying hard and we’re only gonna keep it going this weekend [we listed some of the shows and partys going down after this — right down there] Other than candy and costumes and getting wild, one of our favorite things about Halloween is the jams. We don’t typically do things like this, but we figured it’d be OK to do just this once — we made a little Halloween sampler for the mamis and papis out looking to get their kicks this weekend. Some of the songs aren’t about Halloween, some don’t sound spooky, but they’re all jams indeed. Indead. You can snag it right here. And you can check the tracklist after the click, too. GETTIN’ SPOOKED!

FRIDAY OCTOBER 29

at LITTLE HAMILTON
One of the sicker shows going down this weekend is happening tonight at Little Hamilton with some of our favorite local rock and rollers. If you haven’t seen Modern Hell in a while, you should correct that by seeing them tonight. Feels like punks always way more on their game during Halloween, knowwhatimean?

:: Turbo Fruits
:::: The Cannomen
:::::: Vicious Cycle
:::::::: Brainwreck
:::::::::: ModernHell
@ Little Hamilton
$5 – All Ages – 8PM

at NEXT TO THE KITTY
Sometimes we hear about a Diarrhea Planet show and all we can think is, “What the fuck? They’re playing where? Wait… what??” Apparently the bebs were practicing at their usual spot when a neighbor asked them to play their Halloween party. That being said — they’ve probably invited a world of hurt [and fun] Go if you know…

:: Diarrhea Planet
:::: ??
@ The Kitty’s Neighbors
$TBA – All Ages – 11PM

SATURDAY OCTOBER 30

at THIRD MAN RECORDS
We’re not gonna reveal too much info about this one but we will say that the bad boys are going all out. Elvira’s gonna host. Greenhornes and Black Belles. We’ll be on the ones and twos again slinging out some Halloween rock — but the only downside is that it’s 21+ [Sorry, kiddens. You gotta get your kicks somewhere though] You gotta wear a costume if you wanna come to this one — we’ve got ours ready.

:: The Greenhornes
:::: Black Belles
Hosted by Elvira
@ Third Man Records
$13 – 21+ – 9PM

at12TH AND PORTER BLOCK
In all seriousness, this party looks like it’s gonna be wild. We’ve seen a lot of the acts before, but chu know… that’s not what’s got us wet — fucking Ying Yang Twinz are gonna be there!! From the windoooow to the wall! Getting lost in a sea of teenyboppers wearing barely-there Halloween costumes is definitely not our thing — but we might have to get on that Ying Yang tip. Pretty penny though — YIKES

:: Ying Yang Twinz
:::: Luna Halo
:::::: Space Capone
:::::::: Majestico
@12th and PTown block party
$25 – 18+ – 9PM

at LITTLE HAMILTON
We’re a little lacking on the details for this one, but word on the street is there’s supposed to be a Halloween bash over at our favorite warehouse. You never know what to expect

SUNDAY OCTOBER 31

We’re just gonna hang at Las Americas and party Dia de Los Muertos stylee [Look, we know Dia de Los Muertos isn’t until November 2nd, but you cannot stop us from eating the best $4 burrito in Nashville on Halloween. You just can’t]

click below to check out some Halloween jams…

WFM-UJOL

Photo by Alexa Sullivant

In case you didn’t know — Nashville just kicked CMJ’s ass for the second year in a row [for serious] I mean, we’re sure you’ve seen pics and press all over the place — but you might’ve missed this one that popped up earlier today — The bad boys of PUJOL hit up the WFMU studio and did a sick live sesh and a nice long interview too [really, it’s like the entire live set and then a nice 10 minute interview about Nashville and Telecasters and we love to hear the sound of Sean’s voice] If you wanna check it out, just go here and give it a listen. They’re back in town for a little bit but don’t have much slated Nashy-wise. We’re gonna try and change that. I swear one day there will be a finished recorded version of “Reverse Vampire BFF” and the world will change. Here’s a little sample of what they’re packing…

PUJOL – Endless Mike [stream WFMU]

Let’s take a hint, Nashville — turn WRVU into something worthwhile. We’ll take a show please? No? Ok. We just gonna start doing our own streams then.
