Are these YEAH! guys official or what? We went down to the YEAH space last Friday for the first time to check out the Infinity Cat show and to case the joint and, suffice to say, we were pretttttttty impressed. It’s always good to see the young ones out having clean fun. You can catch a few snippets from the show in that video up there right around the 0:50 mark. The rest of the video talks about some of the pretty big shows they’ve lined up for the following weeks [Feat. Kindergarten Circus, Those Darlins, and Caitlin Rose] so we’ll be sure to keep you guys in the loop about it. Oh and a weird projection of Mr. T and crew. Be sure to get out there and support this place, because we all know what happens when you take away the kiddies’ teen center.
GG-IN' ALL DAY AND NIGHT
GG KING
GG King, former Carboner and obvious name reference to Dee Dee King, has been spewing rock and roll all over Atlanta for the last while; putting out a couple of 7″s and a demo cassette [Thanks Rob’s House and Douchemaster, we can always count on you guys] If you were into Carbonas… sorry, we didn’t mean to say that… You were into Carbonas. And, if you’re not already, you will be into GG King. He’s definitely a staple in the Atlanta scene; playing alongside bands like Cheap Time, Jay Reatard, Predator, All Night Drug Prowling Wolves, etc. And recording/playing with some of those Gentlemen Jesse and Predator boys. We were hoping he’d hit Nashville on the 16th with School Jerks, but seems like he won’t be hopping on that tour until the weekend after. Bummer. Anyways, check out a track below and pick up a 7″ here.

BACK IN GREY

Sometimes, the last minute is the best minute. Like the last minute show that was announced the other day for Grooms to play at The Rat Trap tomorrow night. Grooms were just in town about 2 months ago to play the Heavy Days release show at Glenn Danzig’s House [which ruled] so we’re super stoked to have them come back to our city for a quick stint. If you’re not familiar with Grooms, maybe you’re more familiar with Muggabears [that’s their old name] They just had a new album come out on our good buddies Death By Audio Records called Rejoicer [Satisfying all our pre-grunge needs]Â Their myspace says the show tomorrow night is with Heavy Cream [who are in Knoxville tonight] so this could be an extra delightful party. Hit it!

LITTLE HAMILTON SUPER SHOW RECAP

Just hanging out before the show
Last night’s huge show at the warehouse went off without a hitch [even without The Puj] The playtimes for each band were determined randomly from some paper in a hat; if shows use this method and only charge $2 for the kids more often, we’d never miss a Little Hamilton show again. Not that we don’t like opening bands, it’s just, you know, whatever.
Even with the rotating lineup we still missed the first two bands of the night, a real shame since we’ve liked Gnarwhal since they were a three piece and the Cherry Blossoms know how to blow it out of the water. Deluxin’ [minus a bass] was great as always, Forrest Bride played cool dub-krautrock, and Lazy Magnet sounded like an ethereal New Order without the tone-deaf singing [which means we like it]
The two standout groups were MLU and MARJ! Tampa Bay transplants My Left Uterus [of SAFG fame] blew literally everyone away. We’ve seen ’em maybe once or twice before, but we’ve never really seen ’em, know what I’m saying? Maybe it’s the recent addition of a bass [or that we finally brought earplugs] but we haven’t fallen this hard for a band since five minutes ago. Now, we’ve seen MARJ! maybe around 1000 [plus another 10000] times before, but hot damn they’ve never been better. We were able to get a sneak peek of some new material a couple weeks back, and their set last night totally delivered. Their tape has just about sold out, but there’s a few copies left down at Halcyon Bike Shop. Better get ’em quick before they’re gone.
MAKE UP WORK
Alright guys, I think we owe you for a couple days worth of band-talk [Seeing as how we didn’t post one on Tuesday, Thursday, or yesterday] So we’re gonna hit you with three today [an oldie and two new ones] Then we’ll be square, right? Cool. I’m glad we’re at that point now where we might screw up here and there but you guys don’t give us backlash for it because you know we’re good for it. Anyways…
CIRCUIT RIDER
First up for you, is Circuit Rider. This band may be more of a myth than anything else. Their only LP came out in 1980 [Some say it came out in 1971 though] and some will tell you that Jim Morrison is the man behind the mic on this [We don’t really believe that either, but you never know] Oh, and it was apparently on a list of “Top Ten Records a Serial Killer Would Own”. Myths and rumors aside, this band is awesome. Chuggy psychadelic, meth and acid inspired, motorpsychle rock and roll. I think we just invented a new genre: motorpsychle. It’s like if The Doors and Skynyrd got together and formed a motorcycle gang and went on one big crazy acid trip. Seriously, it’s amazing. The record was originally pretty hard to find. But it got reissue treatment not too long ago and it’s apparently pretty easy to get your hands on these days. Get it!
Circuit Rider – Just For Today
READING RAINBOW
Two philly-bebes just havin’ a good time. Reading Rainbow have put out a couple of releases this year [including a split 7″ with Eternal Summers and full-length on SMK Records] And they’re great. They’ve got another release slated for later this month with Zoo Music [who just keep climbing our ladder of current favorite labels] and a 7″ after that with Hell Yes! Most of their stuff is kind of space-y, poppy, fun times with a little fuzz thrown in for flavor. You know how Robbie and Sarah like it. Anyways, check out their stuff and pick up some goodies here.
Reading Rainbow – In The City [mp3]
MAYYORS
Mayyors doesn’t have a myspace. Mayyors’ releases sell out within hours of the time they’re released. Mayyors are the primetime. They’re first 7″ was label-less, had no cover, no tracklist…. [there’s one available on eBay right now, here] If you’ve got a crush on things that sound like an In The Red record on meth in a crashing car, then you’ll probably be as hooked as we are. We’ve never been graced with the opportunity of seeing Mayyors [yet] but from what we’ve youtubed and heard, it sounds like a riot. Check out “Clicks” below.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Well, it’s another turkey day. Time to celebrate how the pilgrims came over here and gave all the natives blankets…. and smallpox. On this Thanksgiving, you can atleast be stoked on the fact that John Lithgow is not your dad. If we’re not too knocked out from the turkey, we might drop some goodies on you later on.
SATURDAY NIGHT AT LITTLE HAMALAMA

Little Hamilton is getting to be the spot for your local mini-fests. Feels like every weekend there’s some big show going on with 6 or 7 of our favorite local bands, and this Saturday is no different. The bad boys over at SAFG have put together a real doozy this time. The show features 7 great acts and some booze for the of-age, paying customers. Here’s where they get you though. The lineup will be decided 30 minutes before the show starts [By drawing names out of a hat. The democratic way] Seriously. Better come early because you won’t have any idea of the order until you get there. To keep things moving quickly, there will be two stage areas set up [You know, so you can bounce from band-to-band without pause] Oh, and it’s for the kids. For those under the age of 21, it’s only going to cost you $2. Any older and that’ll be $5. Check out the roster below, but remember — THIS IS NOT THE ORDER THEY WILL PLAY IN! Probably.
