It’s been a busy year, ya know? There’s only 2 weeks left until we start another, probably even busier, year. But before those two weeks are up, we’ve still got a lot of stuffs to talk about and drop on you guys [The first Nashville’s Dead single, some show announcements, a bunch of photos, and maybe even a new means of letting that rock and roll girl know that you like her…. maybe] But since we’ve got that stuff coming up, we’re gonna take the day today to get a few things straightened out in preparation. We really hope you baybees don’t mind. Grab a slice of pumpkinbread and we’ll see you at Local Honey tonight or at The 5Spot or Rocketown tomorrow night or at church on Sunday. Chuch.
STAY HOME
Los Beets. We’ve been waiting a good long while for the next Beets record to come out, and it’ll finally see light on January 11 [via Captured Tracks] If you’ve picked up any of The Beets last 3 singles, you know they’ve been upping their game a little and are sounding great. They’ll be releasing a new single on the same day as their new album [also from Captured Tracks] and it’s so killer. It features the song “Time Brought Age,” which you can download below, on the A-side and “Pick Another” on the B-side. We’ve been waiting forever for that one to come out. Word on the street is that the chicos malos are looking to come Nashy-side in February — we’ll keep you posted, duh. Check out the new track below and look down there for some more of Matt Volz’s incredible art…

TAKE ME BACK TO HOLLYWOOD
If you went out to last week’s Rock the Block then you might’ve caught a secret unannounced Hollywood set over at The End. If you didn’t catch it, don’t be bummed — just fix it by seeing them this weekend at their official reunion show. We all remember Hollywood’s last show, and we feel pretty safe saying that this one should be pretty rowdy as well. That being said, we strongly urge everyone to be careful [a buddy of ours ended up in a neck brace and on some pretty heavy medication as a result of last week’s secret set] But — with that being said — let’s party.

MERRY JEFFMAS
We miss our bogus bros. They’re starting to unload a bunch of European tour dates for this January, you can check them out on their Facebook events page. The boys have been in the outback for a little while now but they should be home soon. No word as to when their next Nashville show is, but here’s to hoping that our holiday wishes come true and we’ll get to see them sooner than later.

ALL SWEET NO SOUR
We are so stoked for this show. Just looking at the flier’s got us hungry. Mostly because we’ve been waiting like 6 months now for Bake Sale to make their way over here from Memphis, but also because it feels like it’s been forever since we’ve seen Heavy Cream. Forillytho — how long has it been? Probably since their last minute show at The Other Basement a couple months ago. If it’s been that long for you too, then you might notice tomorrow night that there’s been a little bit of a lineup change. Tiffany Minton is filling in on the skins and if you’ve ever seen her at the Rock and Roll camps then you know that the girl’s got the drums on lock. As far as we know, Bake Sale don’t have any releases available just yet, but you can download their The Alice EP for free right here. Come check them tomorrow night with Heavy Cream and Reid Magette and forget that it’s fucking freezing outside [Since when has winter been winter in Tennessee? Doesn’t winter typically happen in March around here?]

BEHOLD THE IN-STORE
We know Behold The Spirit came out a few weeks ago, but today is finally your chance to see some of it in action when he plays at Grimey’s this afternoon. Like all in-stores at Grimey’s, it’ll be free and all ages and they’ll probably have some beers for the of-age crowd. If you haven’t given the new record a listen, you’re really depriving yourself from having heard one of the most beautiful records to come out this year. We’re not the only ones that think so; it’s been featured on NPR, in the New York Times, and just about everywhere else we look. We’re sure there will be copies available at the shop today, but just in case there aren’t — you could order one from Tompkins Square. Really no excuse to miss out on this one, so hit it!

KEEP ON KEEPIN’ ON
If there have been two almost overly productive Nashville bands this year, it’d have to be Turbo Fruits and PUJOL. Those boys put out singles and releases more often than we take showers. The next batch of Turbo Time singles are about ready to be dropped on everyone [PUJOL’s MayDay b/w No Feeling and Turbo Fruits Keepin’ On b/w Ain’t the Only One Havin’ Fun] The bad boys over at MOKB have the hookup for a listen at the new Turbo Fruits jam, and you can check it out below as well. Looks like the only Nashville show these two have coming up is gonna be New Year’s at The End. Not bad.

THE RUNDOWN – 12.13.10 – 12.19.10
Is it just us, or have these last few weeks had everyone a little stressed out? We’re figuring that this week ought to be the last week of any stressed-ness for the year and that it’s about time to start relaxing and getting into the holiday spirit, right? Right. There’s some pretty sick shows going on this week, including two release shows [William Tyler’s at Grimey’s tomorrow afternoon and Hans Condor’s at The 5Spot on Friday] Not to mention a reunion from Hollywood [for those of you that missed the surprise one last week] Check it
