I WAS BORN IN THE 2K11

We know we’ve been rattling on and on over the last couple days about how the TwentyTen was a good year, but we only got two days left in it and we’d like to spend those on getting everyone as stoked for the 2k11 as we are. If this year was good, the 2011 is gonna be even better. Not only are we gonna have our new label up and running, but there’s a ton of new releases coming, a ton of sick shows on the way, and more parties to be had. With that in mind, here is a list we’ve got for some records slated for 2011 releases that have us mondo stoked…

TY AND THE SEVEN SEES

If you went around town and asked people who was the king of the twenty-ten on a national level, we bet a lot of them would say Ty Segall. And we’d probably agree with them. Good news for all of us is that baby boi doesn’t look like he’s gonna slow down in the new year at all. A new split 7″ with him and Thee Oh Sees just came out last week from Bruise Cruise Records [Meaning that if you go on the cruise, you’ll get it for free. If you don’t go on the cruise, you probably can’t get it anywhere other than Grimey’s or Goner as far as we know] He’s also got a new LIVE LP called Live In Aisle Five coming from Southpaw Records next month that sounds sick. You can check out the new song from the LP below. It’s available for pre-order right here, so get on it. For the nerds out there, there’ll be an initial press of 1000 with 200 on colored vinyl [the rest on black] Click down there for artworks for said releases and check out the track from his new 7″ below…

NO SHOW BUT LETS HIT THE MOVIES

LEMMY

Lemmy and Motorhead just announced a whole bunch of tour dates for early 2011 [you can see a list of them down there] Unfortunately, the closest they’re coming to Nashville is Chicago or St. Louis. But — lucky for us — the new Lemmy movie, LEMMY: 49% Motherf**ker, 51% Son Of A Bitch, will be screening at The Belcourt for a couple days in late January. It features lots of interviews with people like Mick Jones and Ozzy and Peter Hook and Slash and Triple H. Check out the trailer below…

BROTHERS NEVER BREAK UP

Today our favorite brothers are back in town and we couldn’t be more stoked. To get you stoked — the baybees over at NYLON shot a little interview vid with them about music and fashion and being brothers and they ate at Bolton’s and hung around the new place. Check it out — and remember who is king. One day Jake will be in the Hall of Fame right next to Randy Holden. Truth.

ALL THE TIME RHYME AND REASON

A couple weeks ago in that questionnaire, we said that Hans Condor would probably be the band to rule Nashville in 2011. If you caught them at The 5Spot this weekend, we’re sure you’re a believer now too. They’re debut LP [of which there were only 100 made… and it’s currently not available at Grimey’s or The Groove or any record shop that we’re aware of in Nashville — we’d suggest hitting FooBar sometime and trying to sniff a copy out there] The boys also just sent out this brand new video for the track “Time Rhyme or Reason” off the new LP. Check it out below, and get on the hunt if you wanna snag a copy of this one…
