BABE WAVE: EPISODE SIX

DEAD AIR presents: BABE WAVE
Episode 6: Speak My Language

Oh, Lauren, you sure know how to get us going. This week on BABE WAVE – our number one girly jumps into the world of a million tongues. We had a similar Dead Air a while back when William Tyler guested and chocked up a bunch of sick non-English jams. This one’s just as good. You’ll have to excuse Lauren a little bit though because — to be real — some of these names are hard to pronounce…

BABE WAVE: EPISODE FIVE

DEAD AIR presents: BABE WAVE
Episode 5: Down In The Basement

Another week another BABE WAVE. This time our number one betty, Lauren T, is getting down in the basement with some dirty gnarly jams that are “nitty gritty” indeed. She’s spins lots of old classic cuts filled with subtle innuendo and some with not-so-subtle innuendo. Perfect to get you ready for another Valentine’s Day…

BABE WAVE: EPISODE FOUR

DEAD AIR presents: BABE WAVE
Episode 4: Rip It Up and Shake It Up!

It’s back! After a brief hiatus from the airwaves over the holidays, our favorite babes are back in the studio Dee-ing the J and lighting up the radio station. This week’s episode is a total killer too. The intro to the show alone had us on the floor [And wishing we could order one of those medallions. Shit would be sick!] The show is packed with classic soul and Motown jams this time around. Just the kind of thing we could use to brighten a rainy grey day in Nashville…

BABE WAVE: EPISODE THREE

DEAD AIR presents: BABE WAVE
Episode 3: She’s Leavin’

Well, this is the last BABE WAVE you’ll be getting for the 2011 year. We’re only three episodes deep into this and we’re already convinced that the addition of Babe Wave to the site is definitely the best thing that’s happened in a while. This week’s episode is packed with jams about going home and leaving town and there are some total Christmas jams too. Pretty solid way to end out the year in our opinion.

BABE WAVE: EPISODE TWO

DEAD AIR presents: BABE WAVE
Episode 2: Tough Luck Babe

Man, we are totally in love with this BABE WAVE deal. This week’s episode, Tough Luck Babe, is killer and strictly for the babes [meaning all the female rock and roll jams you can handle] Lauren also setup a nice Skype interview with Andrea Lukic of Nu Sensae fame. They chit and chat for a while about the roll females play in rock and roll and punk and what it’s like to be a part of that. Nothing we love more than sick girl bands. Shangri-Las to Kleenex to Kukl — girls got it going on…

BABE WAVE

BABE WAVE
Episode 1: Breakin’ Up and Makin’ Up

One of our favorite babes, Lauren Taylor, has been blasting the jams from Chicago’s FreeRadio SAIC and we’re stoked to say that her show will now also be hosted here on the ND. She knows how to crank out the tunes. Like this first episode, Breakin’ Up and Makin’ Up, ranges from stuff like The Liminanas to Irma Thomas to The Coupons and on and on and on. It’s really great. Her show airs live on Monday nights at 9PM right here, but we’ll be posting them for your listening pleasure a day or two later. Hope you dig.

DEAD AIR – EPISODE 6

EPISODE 6: I GOT NIGHTMARES
Compiled by: Walker Mimms

For Episode 6 of DEAD AIR, we got our good buddy Walker Mimms from The Paperhead to put together a little something for you. There have been some pretty great Dead Airs so far, but this one might be our favorite to-date. And it’s definitely from one of our favorite people. We’ve been buddies with Walker for a few years now and we feel safe saying that he may be the nicest person in Nashville. And he’s in one of our favorite bands, too. Click to check out the tracklist…

DEAD AIR – EPISODE 5

EPISODE 5: OTHER TONGUES
Compiled by: William Tyler

Time for Round 5 of Dead Air. This time it’s coming to you courtesy of Nashville’s favorite son, William Tyler. William just had his solo debut album come out this past winter and we’re in love with it. We’re sure you’ve all read enough about it and have seen videos of him playing and everything else, but we really can’t stress enough how much you ought to own this record. It’s really no exaggeration to say that Nashville would not be what it is if it weren’t for Mr. Tyler. And that’s why we feel so honored to have him put together a Dead Air for us. It’s called Other Tongues and features some of William’s favorite non-English tracks. It rules. Check out the tracklist below…
