We made mention earlier this week that Cy Barkley & the Way Outsiders have a new record coming next month. Recorded in Nashville last year by Dillon Watson of D. Watusi, Mutability marks a change in sound for the Way Outsiders. Described by Mr. Barkley as his “European” record, it delves into a weirder, more post-punk sound than last year’s So Bad. Such an evolution is often tricky, but it proves worthwhile on this release. What we’re saying here is the record’s got hits. Check out “Axeman” below. Listen to those hooks. Feel those drums.
