Well folks, there it is. We’ve been hard at work planning our fourth birthday party, and it’s finally time it announce. We don’t know how we pulled it off, but the fucking Oblivians are coming. The first time we saw the Oblivians during the summer of 2009 was a real deal life changer, so you can imagine then how stoked we are now to be bringing them to Nashville for the first time in nearly 20 years. Riding high off the release of Desperation, the Bluff City boys leave no one wondering if they “still have it.” Direct support will be provided by our other favorite Memphians, Ex-Cult, whose recent “Mr. Fantasy” single is probably their best work yet. Rounding off the out-of-towners is Fictional Boys [formerly known as MUZZ]. We told you about John Webster John’s bedroom recording project a while ago. We brought him to town to play what we thought would be a one-time-only show with a completely Nashville backing band. Now we have tricked him into gracing us with his presence yet again. Whudda sucker.

This party is not only a celebration of our fourth year around, it’s also the LP release for Mutability, the newest LP from Cy Barkley & the Way Outsiders. Cy and company have been especially killing it lately as a four piece, and their sound has grown as well. Dipping their toes into post-punk territory a la Wire and Wipers, the Way Outsiders are without a doubt one of our favorite bands around town.

Lastly, we are beyond giddy to have Heavy Cream kicking the party off in style. Without playing a show in nearly a year, we wouldn’t have blamed you for wondering if le Creme were even still a band, but fear not. The original Babes of Nashville have merely been laying low — honing their line-up as well as their licks — just to blow you away that much more upon their return. That time is now.

And lest we forget — our #1 girl, DJ Babe Wave, will be on the decks alllll night, so get ready Nashville. There’s a riot coming your way, and it’s not stopping for no one. Get your tickets HERE!
