Ariel Pink

We’d been kinda sleeping on this one – but we just gave it a listen the other day and we were pretty floored with Ariel Pink’s latest offering. The follow-up record to Ariel’s Before Today is coming out a little later this August from 4AD and if it all sounds as gnarly as what we’ve heard so far – then we’ll be mega excited. The new record, Mature Themes, seems to exhibit just that – a more mature Ariel Pink going for it. You can check out the single from the LP – “Baby” a cover of the Donnie and Joe Emerson song – at the bottom of this post. It’s also worth noting that he collaborated with our favorite funkatier – Mr. Dâm-Funk – on the track. It’ll also be available as a 12″ single on July 9th. Anyway – check it out and croooon… but also! If you haven’t checked into the world of Donnie and Joe Emerson, the guys at Light In The Attic would like to welcome you to a world of farmer rock and roll. It’s amazing – but more on that later…
