One thing we love and will always love – is consistently awesome record labels. Night People is one of those. They just released the latest offering from Philadelphia’s Lantern – a cassette of unreleased recordings spanning from 2009 to 2011 called Burned Youth. Originally released as a tour-only cassette – you can now order it online direct from Night People and hear some more of Zachary Fairbrother’s material. You can also check it out on Lantern’s bandcamp if that is more your style. Where Zach and Lantern’s last Night People release, Stranger I Come, Stranger I Leave, found them churning out total lo-fi chugging messes of Stooges style jams - Burned Youth has more of a Stones-y vibe and aesthetic to it. A little more psychedelic and Red Krayola-esque in it’s ways. You can preview the track “Alap/Emily” below for a sampling. Strongly suggest snagging this one while it’s available from Night People – do it here.
