It’s been a little bit since our Beets-boys rolled through town, but we’re getting a nice double-dose tomorrow when they hit Grimey’s New & Pre-Loved Records for an afternoon in-store and then head over to Little Hamilton for a night show. It’s gonna be a total party [and cheap too] We talked not too long ago about the brand new Beets record, Let The Poison Out, that dropped from HardlyArt a couple weeks back [you can check out another track from the record at the bottom of this post] This being their second full length to come out this year [the first of which being Stay Home courtesy of Captured Tracks] and with a couple singles to come out this year too — it’s like The Beets have been putting out material non-stop all year long. And a lot of people are taking notice. Even king of the radio world, Howard Stern. Pretty sick. Let The Poison Out is really the first jump for the guys into a higher fidelity/quality recording. Think of it as being more in line with their “Time Brought Age” single. And though we do love the charm of their fuzzy tapebox recordings, it’s nice to hear them polish up their pop songs enough to where we can mildly understand what Juan is saying. The guys have been on tour for just a little bit now and have already hit some bad luck [Jose’s bass was stolen in Philly] so come out and support the guys and help them on their trek across the country. Or just stop by and get groovy. Either way…
