STILL MICROMINIATURE

Michael Yonkers

We just got good word from our buddies at SubPop that they’ll be re-releasing Michael Yonkers’ Microminiature Love album this week. Stoked. The record, originally to be released from Sire Records in 1968, never saw release until De Stijl released it on vinyl in 2002. Yonkers is definitely someone you could peg as being “ahead of their time.” The SubPop rerelease comes in it’s original 7-song version with a download card that includes 6 bonus tracks.  Be sure to scoop it when you see it — and you can feel good about your purchase because all proceeds from the sales of the LP will benefit the Andy Kotowicz Family Foundation. The guys over at Aquarius say that Michael Yonkers is like a meld of Sabbath-Troggs-Pere Ubu-Cramps. That’s a mindfuck everyone should be sold on.
