NECTARINE PIE -- THE SPLINTERS

We always get stoked when the guys over at Southpaw unload a batch of new goods on us. Especially this time since they’ve got a brand new Splinters single for us [They put out that Blood On My Hands 7″ last year that we dug on so much. Interesting little tidbit about that release – the cover of the single features all four lovely Splinters sporting Jamin’s hat. We’re fan-boys, don’t give a shit] This new one, Carcass, is killer and has us excited knowing that the distance between them won’t come between more new jams. You can check out a track from it down there. The single was recorded by the one and only Matthew Melton, which brings us to another single Southpaw’s releasing: the debut 7″ from Nectarine Pie. Melton and another Wire have teamed up with some more Oakland bad boys to put together a pretty sick psych debut. It’s definitely a departure from the sweet pop songs we’ve been used to hearing from Mr. Melton, but in the best way. You can check that one out down there, too. Both of the singles are out July 15th, but you can go ahead and preorder them now. And for the nerds, both are pressed out of 400 and have 100 limited color copies. Jump on it! Word on the street is that Southpaw have another batch of stuff up their sleeves that’ll make you go nuts. Truth.
