Is it everyone’s prerogative to reissue the best shit right now? Sing Sing just did that whole batch of Clap and Liquid Stone and Moondogs and now we’re getting word that Siltbreeze are putting out a limited 7″ from Vacuum. Granted, this one’s not technically a “reissue” since the tracks have never been released before, but you know what we mean. Vacuum were only around for a short bit in ’77-’79 down in New Zealand and featured Bill Direen [of The Builders] Stephen Cogle and Alan Meek [The Terminals] and Peter Fryer. They pretty much exemplified the sound of the Christchurch scene and were the inspiration for a bunch of bands out of the Flying Nun days. Siltbreeze is doing a one-time run of these and only pressed 300, so get on it. We’ve gone ahead and posted a track from The Builders below since there’s little-to-no Vacuum available for listening online…
