Word on the street is that Vanderbilt and WRVU are looking to sell their broadcasting license and switch to online only. Now there’s really no reason for our radio dials to ever stray from 1470 AM. You can read all about it here. Maybe we should just all pitch in together and buy their license and show them how to really run a radio station. We’re down if you guys are. Apparently you can voice your opinions — but we all know how that went last time… Read it all here.

Throw a show of epic proportions to acquire funds for said radio station license?
Marlow,
If we could throw a show big enough to raise a cool 10 milli —- we’d do it in a flash
Oh wow, 10 Mil is a lot of dough.
i’m in. seriously really truly. hopefully it won’t come to that, but if so, let’s buy that license and make this city SING.
oh. wow. 10 million. just saw that. damn.
Yeah after I heard the price tag, my dreams of hearing sweet jamz over my radio died.
Yeah, and I don’t think that even covers equipment costs and everything. If you’ve got any suuuuuper rich friends — point ’em our way. We can schmooze them
If I did I would. This is a humanity issue, Nashville needs a good radio station…like really bad.
WRUV will always have a place in my heart.
