Even with the recent release of their Upstairs at United 12″ record, we feel like we’ve been going through some serious JEFF withdrawals. The guys have been in town for a minute and have their next record wrapped up. They recorded it over at Danny’s studio, so prepare for a heavier/grungier JEFF than ever. We’ll get our first sampling of the new album when they release their new Hypnotic Knights EP digitally on Tuesday May 22nd. You can see the tracklisting down there. There’s not a ton of information about it right now, but we’re going to assume that at least two of these are album tracks. And the track “Mystic Portal II” is apparently a reworking of an old JEFF classic from the original Boys R Back In Town release. Can’t wait. In other JEFFy news – the bogus bros will be hitting the road pretty soon to tag-team across the nation with Best Coast and then be out for most of June and running the festival circuit with appearances at SoundTown Festival, Forecastle Festival, and Lollapalooza [with Sabbath. FUCK YEAH] Hopefully we can get a Nashville date in there somewhere to make our Summer’s complete – we’ll keep you posted. Here’s a nice blown out video of JTB at Grimey’s on Record Store Day…
