KURT VILE
As long as we’ve been fans of Kurt Vile, we’ve only managed to catch him live once [back in April of 2009 at Silent Barn in New York] We missed him in Austin during SXSW and we missed him last time he rolled through Nashy, but we’re determined to make it out to their show next week at The End. Kurt’s latest record, Smoke Ring For My Halo, just came out from Matador a little bit ago and it’s another solid release to add to his slate of killer records. It’s hard to pinpoint what exactly Kurt & the Violators do that’s so enticing, but it’s something so special and interesting enough that it garnered the attention of acts like Fucked Up and J Mascis [he toured with both in the last year or so] Maybe it’s something in that hair. Ehhh… Probably something in that badass music. They’ll be playing April 6th at The End alongside PUJOL and Casa Castile. You can pick up tickets online ahead of time, or pay $10 at the door.
