We love free stuff. Especially when it’s a free record from Dan Melchior und das Menace. Their new LP, Catbirds and Cardinals, was supposed to see a vinyl release sometime this year but it looks like that’s not really panning out. When life gives you unpressed records — make lemonade. They instead sent the record over to the bebs at WFMU’s Free Music Archive where you can download the whole thing for free. We’ve been blasting it this week and it’s sounding like one their most solid efforts — hopefully it’ll see vinyl treatment before too long so we can pick it up and spin it on the ones and twos all the time.
