When we started working on Freakin’ Weekend V last October, I’m not sure we knew what a roller coaster it would be. We encountered some setbacks, but we also had quite a few things work in our favor. Now with the weekend behind us and the memories concretely formed, I can honestly say that it exceeded all of my expectations. Racking my brain for highlights proves fruitless. The weekend as a whole shines alone as one of the highlights of the last year.
Thank you Jesse. Thank you Donoho. Thank you Cy. Thank you Cam. Thank you Julia. Thank you Josh. Thank you Alexa. Thank you Trent. Thank you Kevin. Thank you Sean. Thank you Emily. Thank you Amelia. Thank you Elise. Thank you Daniel. Thank you Bingham and Drew. Thank you Christina.
But most of all, THANK YOU BANDS AND FREAKS. Nashville is a beautiful city full of beautiful people, and that warm beauty was in full bloom those three days.
As always, photos taken by three of the baddest babes in town: Julia Bee, Emily Quirk, and Amelia Anderson.

This PR cream dream proved itself to be well worth the wait! The blobby lines that formed around the venue doors (lookin at you, Coyote Ranch) made for an ideal breeding ground for pure, cage-free, no-sugar-added hype. One of our favorite photo jennies, Julia Bee, was on the job capturing every moment, from the first practices to the final show. Check up on it ch’all…

Sweat, hair, beer-mud, knee bruises, and Charlie Moothart. These are the things that dreams are made of, and these are the things that Fuzz delivered last week. We’re not the type to just throw around terms like “life changer” and “religious experience,” but this was definitely the kind of show that reminded us of why we got into this crazy game in the first place. Kids walking over the kids who were already crawling over each other? That’s beautiful, man. The finest art. CCR Headcleaner and Heavy Cream opened, and our two favorite documentarians, Bekah Cope and Julia Bee, were there to catch it all. Thank you everyone for doing what you do.

Well, that was FUN. As planned, we got a visit from Miami’s Jacuzzi Boys on Sunday, and good Lort did they bring the thunder. The set was a solid mix of older favorites and new material from their upcoming record, and it all sounded right on to us. We were also treat with sets from Weekend Babes, D. Watusi, and Cy Barkley and the Way Outsiders. The punkers pushed, the poppers hopped, and freaks felt alright. Lucky for us, resident photographers Julia Bee, Emily Quirk, and Amelia Anderson were all in attendance snapping memories. Peek the party below…

As we’ve mentioned a time or two, we were graced with a rare performance by LA-based bedroom guru Muzz last week. The show was a rocker. One of those real “scared the floor might cave in/fuck it, it’s a party” type deals. Fox Fun killed it, showing off some of the material that’ll be on the LP they’re working on. Gnarwhal reminded us of why we love house shows in the first place. Muzz, as promised, was really something special. Harmonized guitar, falsetto vocals…what more could you ask for? The show was recorded live to tape, so we’ll see what comes of that. Luckily for us, the queen Julia Bee and the young Amelia Anderson were also there to catch the party on film. Make the jump below to see exactly what went down.

THEY’RE FINALLY HERE. It’s been three weeks since Freakin’ Weekend IV. We know, we are truly real adult fuckups, but whine not. It is finally time to see all the photos from the weekend. Thanks a milli to our usual killer photographers — Bekah Cope, Julia Bee, and Emily Quirk, and a hearty welcome to two new additions Amelia Anderson, and Eric Oglander. Their shit’s tite, hope to keep it coming. Without further adieu, WECLOME TO VOLUME FOUR…..

]]>Last Thursday we celebrated our third year here on the Internets by having a big party at The Zombie Shop with our friends Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, Ex-Cult, Useless Eaters, D. Watusi, and Gnarwhal. It got pretty out of control and it went 'til about 3 in the morning. That's a party. If you weren't granted entry to the show or couldn't find a way to sneak in - we apologize. It got pretty out of control and it went ’til about 3 in the morning. That’s a party. If you weren’t granted entry to the show or couldn’t find a way to sneak in – we apologize. It was a show we wish everyone could’ve been at. We think that was maybe the most people we’ve seen out at a show at 8:30 in a long time – maybe ever. Anyway – we had fun, we hope you had fun, if you didn’t have fun then there must be something wrong with you. We’d like to extend a huge thank you to our friends at The Zombie Shop, the Rat Patrol Bicycle Club, Josh Shearon and Kangaroo Press, United Record Pressing, and everyone who came out/helped out/had fun/hated on/whatever. Thanks. Our favorite photographers – Bekah Cope and Julia Bee – were there to capture everything for you. Check ’em out!

We know you are all probably thinking that Bonnaroo is not really our thing since it's so huge and "mainstream" or whatever - but what it really comes down to is The Beach Boys, Black Lips, Danzig, Bad Brains, Kurt Vile, PUJOL, St. Vincent, Chi-Peps, Aziz Ansari, GZA, Caitlin Rose and a TON of others were just a short drive from our motherland of Nashville - so who is going to complain and say no to that? Not us! Click up there to check out tons of photos from this year's festivities..

]]>So instead of drawing this out over a few different posts -- we've decided to throw alll the pictures from alllll the shows from allllllll our photographers into one nice big collection. We'll preface this by saying you might want to go ahead and make sure you've got some time to kill - because you're about to get lost in a sea of photos for a while...

Last Wednesday night we kicked off the third annual FREAKIN' WEEKEND over at The End with some of our favorite dudes: No Regrets Coyote, Diarrhea Planet, Screaming Females, and Titus Andronicus. If you were there - you know it was a total party. The show sold out right around the 9:30 point - which we don't think has ever happened. Definitely a good way to kick off the weekend

Last Wednesday night we kicked off the third annual FREAKIN’ WEEKEND over at The End with some of our favorite dudes: No Regrets Coyote, Diarrhea Planet, Screaming Females, and Titus Andronicus. If you were there – you know it was a total party. The show sold out right around the 9:30 point – which we don’t think has ever happened. Definitely a good way to kick off the weekend and get people in the right state of mind for partying and letting loose. We’ve also come to find that Mr. Patrick Stickles’ obsession with Nashville bands and culture is quite real. Who do we talk to about making that guy an honorary Nashvillian? If you couldn’t catch the fun — our favorite photographers [Bekah Cope and Emily Quirk] were there snapping shots all over. Check them out!
