FREAKIN’ WEEKEND III:
NIGHT ONE

Last Wednesday night we kicked off the third annual FREAKIN’ WEEKEND over at The End with some of our favorite dudes: No Regrets Coyote, Diarrhea Planet, Screaming Females, and Titus Andronicus. If you were there – you know it was a total party. The show sold out right around the 9:30 point – which we don’t think has ever happened. Definitely a good way to kick off the weekend

You know, the show we held over at Zombie Shop this past Saturday night was one of the most fun times we’ve had in recent memory. If you were there, then we think you’ll agree. Nothing like packing out a big crazy motorcycle/moped repair shop with rock and rollers looking to get their kicks, right? Right. Check out some of the pics from the show…

The best punk band going graced The End a couple weeks ago and if you were there then you know just how crazy it was. Once The Spits started playing, it was like hell broke loose in a sea of fog. We don’t think we could see three feet in front of us, except for the giant skull and the flaming crash. Either way, one of the best shows to go down so far this Summer.

Last week our Austin brothers, The Strange Boys, rolled through town to blow up The End. That show was one of our favorites we’ve seen in the last while. Denney killed it. The Paperhead killed it. D. Watusi killed it. Strange Boys were ok. Just kidding, the Austin bad boys lit up the stage and mentioned in their set that they’d be back in town in just a few weeks…

Took us a minute, but we finally got together a nice chunk of the photos we took of the fun times down in Austin. We went ahead and did it gallery style so you can just click at your own pace. We figured 20 rolls of film might be a bit to take in all at once…

We’re finally getting around to scanning and uploading the million photos we took during the FREAKIN’ WEEKEND. We wanna go ahead and take this time to thank everybody for coming out and partying and getting wild and getting your freak on and going nuts and packing out venues and buying records and putting out records and taking photos and being in photos and getting sweaty and believing in the Great Nashville Country and thank you for being Kings and thanks for sneaking in and making fake IDs and letting us do a pop-up shop and thanks just a lot…

The Other Basement is quickly becoming one of our new favorite places to catch shows. A week or so ago they hosted a sick show with Turbo Fruits, Denney & The Jets, D. Watusi, and Slammers. It was nuts. If you were there, then you know what we’re talking about. Emily Quirk was snapping shots all night, so check them out.
NOMO MONOTONIX [IN PICS]
We’re still a little skeptical about the whole “no more Monotonix tours” and stuff, but if it is true then we can atleast rest easy knowing that Monotonix had one last killer time in Nashville. They rolled through last week after the release of their new record, Not Yet [Drag City] and continued on a tour with the PUJOL boys…
