THIS WORLD IS BEAT

After a crippling debut and more break-ups than we could keep up with, it seems that Hank Wood and the Hammerheads are officially back with their second full-length, and we could not be happier. The record’s called Stay Home, and it’s amazing. It’s not often in this day and age that you can find a band who are original enough to create a sound much their own and also bold enough to build upon that sound rather than sticking to the template, but that’s exactly what the Hammerheads have done. First impression has us feeling this one is a little less abrasive, a little less brutal. The weirdness is still there though, the songs are quality, and the band truly functions as a BAND. From vocals to cowbell and guitar to organ, no component is any more or less important than the others.

So far copies of the record appear to have only been sold on the band’s recent West Coast tour and at Dripper World in Brooklyn, but you can go ahead any download it here (don’t feel guilty, the label posted that link). For real though, this shit sounds like hardcore Gun Club or something, and you NEED to hear it. Keep your eyes on Katorga Works for physical copies.
