One of the most fun nights we had this Summer was when DJ Jonathan Toubin was at the FooBar for a night of dancing and Soul Clapping and getting down. We got word late last night of a crazy accident involving a cab crashing through Toubin’s hotel room in Portland and hitting him and leaving him in critical condition. The amount of outpour we’ve seen around the nation to help Jonathan has been really crazy, and we’d like to get Nashville going with our own benefit show for one of the best DJs [and dudes] out there. Come out to The FooBar tomorrow night for a BUNCH of bands including The Turbo Fruits, Nikki Lane, The Ettes, Reno Bo, D. Watusi, and probably a few more along with giveaways and cheap beer and some guest DJs. It’s a suggested $10 donation at the door [all proceeds will be going to help Jonathan] but you are free to donate whatever you’d like. For more information on the story, please go here. And, if you don’t think you’ll be able to make it out to the show but still feel inclined to donate — you can PayPal money directly to ihearttoubin@gmail.com . Anything helps and is very appreciated. Check out more photos from DJ Toubin’s trip to Nashville after the click…

We read the blogs, we check the boards, we keep out ears close to the ground, but still we somehow miss out on big news from time to time. Case-in-point: a track from the new Oblivians record was released a month ago! Did you know that shit? We did not know that shit. The track,…
