Whoa. This shit totally snuck up on us. Woods and Jovontaes and R. Stevie Moore playing together at The End next Monday? We’ll take it. Woods had a new record drop a little earlier this year from Woodsist — Sun and Shade. You can snag it here. It’s more of what you’d expect from the guys: disheveled pop songs with folk-rock overlay and barely a hint of pretention. We can’t promise they’re the most entertaining or wild live act, but your ears will thank you later. To be completely honest, we had no idea who Jovontaes were. But, after doing a little inter-crusing and spending some time on their bandcamp, we’re pretty excited to see these guys in the flesh and blood. They had an LP release earlier this year from Woodsist/Hello Sunshine that’s still available if you feel so inclined. And topping it off with R. Stevie Moore is always a welcomed treat. Looks like it’s going to be a good night to let your freak flag fly.
