SONNY AND THE SUNSETS

We can’t think of a better way to get a new Sonny & The Sunsets record than having it be sunny and perfect outside in the early summertime, ya know? Their latest effort, Hit After Hit, just came out this week from Fat Possum and it’s been the soundtrack to our last few trips around town in the sun. Sonny Smith, who you probably know from his 100 Records project or from being one of the best pop writers of our century, has been working hard the last few years with another king of pop – Kelley Stoltz. The new record is definitely more of the pop gold you’d come to expect from the two collaborating. Fat Possum also put out a new single to accompany the record for the track “I Wanna Do It” which you can check out below. It has a total Mickey & Sylvia vibe to it. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up to go along with the weather — we promise you won’t regret it.
